Care Guide

  • Keep away from water. Do not immerse jewelry in water. Metal and water do not get along, so to keep your jewelry from losing its luster make sure to remove all of your jewelry before showering or swimming. If humidity is a problem, it is always a good idea to storage a package of silica gel inside your jewelry box.
  • It is always advisable to wait until you have applied makeup, lotion, perfume, and hairspray before putting on jewelry. This is because harsh chemicals tend to accelerate tarnish. It is best to remove jewelry before applying lotions as gemstone settings can easily become clogged with creams.
  • Always remove jewelry before doing activities such as household chores, gardening, or exercising to avoid knocking out stones or scratching the metal. Perspiration can be rough on fine jewelry, so it is best to remove the pieces before working out to maintain its quality for years to come.
  • Wrap jewelry in separate tissue or cloth pouches while it is being stored. Avoid using a leather case or plastic bags. Refrain from storing multiple pieces in a pouch as the metals could scratch together.
  • It is inevitable that jewelry will tarnish slightly over time. Bring your pieces back to life in their original shiny state using my holy grail tips:
    • GOLD PLATED/ ROSE GOLD PLATED
      • Gently rub the piece with a polishing cloth to help the piece last a lifetime.
    • STERLING SILVER
      • Using liquid silver jewelry cleaner allow the piece to soak for 1-2 minutes and polish with a soft cloth or gently rubbing a polishing cloth or use baking soda and a soft cloth to restore the shine in your silver jewelry.
    • 14K/18K/GOLD FILLED
      • Prepare a bowl with a very small amount of clear dish soup. Allow your piece to soak for about a minute. Using a very soft tooth brush (be sure it is soft so it does not scratch the piece) gently brush the piece paying special attention to areas where the dirt builds up. A soft cloth would also work if a toothbrush is not available.
    • GEMSTONES AND PEARLS
      • Please note that chemicals inside some strong jewelry cleaners are incredibly toxic to almost all pearls and some gemstones
